Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a GS1 barcode to sell on MasterCase Canada?
No — GS1 is helpful but not required. If your products are already GS1-registered, you can enter your GTINs directly when listing each product. Not registered yet? We list you manually with the same approval process. Learn more at gs1ca.org.
What does MasterCase Canada charge?
MasterCase Canada earns through a transparent markup on top of your wholesale price. You set your wholesale price; we add platform and bundled shipping markup to set the consumer-facing price. You receive your full declared wholesale price on every order — no commissions deducted, no setup fees, no listing fees, no monthly fees. Markup rates are flat across vendors and disclosed in your vendor agreement.
When do I get paid?
On delivery — not Net-30 or Net-60. When your shipment is confirmed delivered by the carrier, your payout is initiated. You connect your bank once during onboarding and orders pay out automatically. Settlement timing depends on your bank, typically a few business days.
How does shipping work?
When an order is placed, MasterCase Canada automatically generates a prepaid shipping label and emails it to you. You pack the case and drop it with the carrier. You never pay for shipping — label cost is factored into the platform markup.
What products are eligible?
Any product a Canadian company sells that can be packaged and shipped by the case. The only exclusions are hazardous materials, age-restricted products, and cold-chain shipping at launch.
What if an order is lost or damaged?
Since MasterCase Canada provides the shipping label, carrier liability is managed on our side. If a shipment is lost or arrives damaged, MasterCase Canada coordinates the carrier claim and processes any refund or replacement per our Return Policy. You are not responsible for transit issues outside your warehouse.
How many SKUs can I list?
No limit. Each SKU goes through a one-time admin approval before going live — usually within 1-2 business days. We recommend starting with your top 3-5 products to test the channel before expanding.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes — you set your wholesale price per case. MasterCase Canada applies a markup on top to set the consumer-facing price. You always know exactly what you'll receive per order before you go live.
Which provinces do you ship to?
All 10 provinces at launch. You ship from your existing location using the prepaid carrier label we generate. Northern territories (Yukon, NWT, Nunavut) are deferred until we can quote shipping economics on a case-by-case basis.
How long from signup to first listing?
Signup takes about 5 minutes. We review every signup within 2 business days. Once approved, onboarding usually takes 1-2 business days — accept the vendor agreement, connect Stripe for payouts, submit your first product for approval. Total from signup to first listing is typically under one week.
